Description
Shawnee County Parks and Recreation is soliciting proposals for construction services at Gage Park Play Land. The base work includes approximately 852 linear feet of four-foot ornamental steel fencing, an 18-foot double gate, 19 stone columns, concrete mow strips or walk/mow-strip combinations, a maintenance entry pad, gate-post footings, column footings, excavation, backfilling, cleanup, coordination, and supervision. Bidders may submit proposals for one or more of the fencing, stone-column, and concrete categories, which may be awarded independently or together. An add-alternate package covers approximately 803 linear feet of fencing, 20 stone columns, concrete mow strips and walkways, an ADA-accessible entry walkway, and related footings at Animal Land. The selected contractor must provide labor, materials, equipment, utility locating, site protection, access coordination, and restoration. A mandatory pre-bid meeting and on-site inspection is scheduled for October 27, 2026, and the work is to be completed before April 2027. Responses must include a cover letter, company profile, project approach, key personnel qualifications, signed bid form, pricing schedules, three similar-project references from the last five years, contact information, and any exceptions.
