Description
Shawnee County is soliciting bids for rehabilitation of the NW Maple Hill Road Bridge over the Kansas River (Project S-871006.00 / BSN 590). Work includes removal of existing structures and pavement; excavation and embankment; concrete pavement and bridge concrete work; reinforcing steel and welded shear connectors; guardrails and end terminals; an expansion device; bridge painting; drainage and backwall protection; traffic control; and environmental protection. The bid schedule also includes erosion-control and seeding items. Bidders must submit a bid security of at least 5% of the bid amount, including alternates. The apparent low bidder may be asked to provide qualification information after submission. The successful contractor will be required to provide performance and statutory bonds and insurance after award. Subcontracted work is capped at 70% of the total bid, so the contractor must perform at least 30% of the work.
