Description
Shawnee County is requesting qualifications from consulting engineering firms to provide professional design and construction engineering services for the replacement of the NW 86th Street Bridge over Cross Creek. The scope includes concept, field-check, utility, office-check, and final plans; cost estimates; bidding documents; right-of-way plans and legal documents; easement acquisition support; title certificates; field survey staking; geotechnical engineering; permitting; utility coordination; and construction engineering and inspection services. Plans must comply with Kansas Department of Transportation bridge design standards, and construction inspection must follow applicable KDOT, City of Topeka, and Shawnee County specifications. The anticipated schedule includes a December 2026 notice to proceed, design and permitting milestones through November 2028, letting in December 2028, and construction from March through July 2029. Qualifications submissions must include a transmittal letter, similar-project experience, project approach, references, and key personnel qualifications with resumes.
