Description
The State of Vermont is soliciting a qualified architectural and engineering firm to design an exhaust fan replacement project at Northern State Correctional Facility. The project covers replacement of 93 exhaust fans throughout the facility, including roof and interior fans, smoke-exhaust systems, make-up-air requirements, and associated controls. The scope also includes repairing or replacing backdraft dampers on 93 fans and 40 gravity ventilators, evaluating existing sequences for code compliance, and developing an energy-efficient design with direct-drive equipment where feasible. The selected firm will provide civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering; schematic and design-development services; construction documents and bidding assistance; construction administration; site visits, inspections, change orders, submittal reviews, coordination with an independent commissioning agent, record documents, and a one-year warranty inspection. Current 2026 codes and guidelines apply. Existing AutoCAD building drawings are available, but exhaust-fan information is limited to scanned construction-era drawings. Responses must include the listed proposal materials, including a cover letter, completed compliance and qualification forms, price schedule, hourly rate sheets, reimbursables schedules, references, and applicable reporting documentation.
