Description
The Town of Southington is soliciting bids for snow plowing and snow removal on town streets, parking lots, and school access walks for the 2026–2027 winter season. The scope includes loader-with-plow, truck, pickup, skid-steer, dump-truck, snow-blower, and related equipment services, with qualified and properly licensed operators included in the equipment rates. Bidders may submit bids for individual items and must provide equipment capable of responding within two hours of a call-in; equipment may be inspected by the Town. The contract period is November 10, 2026, through April 30, 2027. School access walks must be cleared to at least 48 inches, with ramps and crosswalks cleared to their full widths. Required pre-work documentation includes proof of insurance meeting specified liability and workers’ compensation limits and a copy of the bidder’s Declaration of Personal Property. Contractors must report to the Town Highway/Parks Department before and after called-in storms, submit invoices within ten days after each storm, and repair damage caused by snow-removal operations.
