The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is soliciting applications from licensed physician facilities to provide comprehensive pre-employment medical examinations, including physicals, vision screenings, audiograms, EKGs, and drug/blood tests for DPS law enforcement candidates. Applicants must demonstrate at least three years of experience in providing similar services to government law enforcement or military entities, and their examining physicians must have a minimum of three years of experience in pre-employment physical examinations, with specific training or experience in sports medicine or military/law enforcement medical entrance examination standards. The scope of services includes Category One: Comprehensive Pre-Employment Physical Examination, which encompasses bloodwork (including a ten-panel drug screen and specific drug tests), chemical strip urinalysis, vision screening, audiogram, and electrocardiogram (EKG). Category Two includes X-rays if deemed necessary to evaluate previous injuries. Category Three and Four involve specialist evaluations (Orthopedic and Cardiologist) if required. All services must be performed at the contractor's facility, located within a fifteen (15) mile radius of DPS Headquarters in Austin, Texas. Facilities must be available Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM CT, and capable of processing a minimum of 15 candidates per day. Completed forms and reports must be submitted digitally within ten business days via a secure online portal.
