Abilene Independent School District is soliciting proposals for a contractor to inspect all portable fire extinguishers annually and perform six-year and twelve-year inspections and servicing in accordance with state and local fire marshal requirements and NFPA 10. The contractor must provide replacement extinguishers and recharge services as needed, maintain campus-level inspection and service records, identify additions or missing extinguishers, and submit completed inspection reports with final invoices. The scope covers district campuses and separately scheduled inspections of the transportation facility, buses, and vans. Pricing is requested for annual inspections, six-year and twelve-year service for 5-, 10-, and 20-pound extinguishers, recharging, and replacement. The contract term is one year from December 1, 2026, through November 30, 2027, with up to three additional one-year renewals by mutual agreement. A minimum of three years of contractor experience is required.
