Description
The City of Charleston is requesting proposals from South Carolina-licensed Specialty Marine Contractors to provide annual, semiannual, and as-needed inspection and maintenance services for floating docks, fixed piers, piles, and related marine structures. Work may include tightening and replacing hardware, concrete patching, wood and vinyl rubrail repairs, corrosion treatment, removal of marine growth and debris, cleaning, electrical pedestal repairs, visual and dive inspections, maintenance reporting, post-storm inspections, and recommendations for repairs. The contractor may also be asked to remove, store, or shore floating docks before severe storm events and must obtain required permits and dispose of materials in accordance with applicable regulations. Offerors must demonstrate at least seven years of relevant marine inspection, installation, repair, and maintenance experience; provide qualified marine supervisory and inspection personnel; demonstrate in-house or contracted certified dive-inspection capability; and provide required Longshoreman's insurance and other specified insurance coverage. Proposals must include qualifications, relevant project experience and references, service-capacity information, deviations and exclusions, and time-and-materials pricing for marine supervision/inspection, marine crews, dive teams, and a 100-ton crane barge with tugboat and captain. The contract has an initial one-year term with up to four additional one-year extensions.
