Charleston Water System, operated by the Commissioners of Public Works of the City of Charleston, is seeking applications to prequalify contractors for the construction of water and wastewater utility relocations associated with the Lowcountry Rapid Transit construction project. The work includes providing all labor, equipment, materials, and appurtenances for relocating approximately 17,700 linear feet of 3-inch to 20-inch ductile iron water main and approximately 14,800 linear feet of 24-inch to 30-inch ductile iron water main by open cut. Only contractors prequalified by Charleston Water System for this project will be eligible to submit bids when the utility-relocation construction project is advertised later. The construction bids are tentatively scheduled to be opened in March 2027; this notice concerns only the prequalification application.
