The Sole Source number must be referenced in the response. The University of Mississippi is not responsible for delivery delays. Verify receipt with Jeff Wells. Late responses will be rejected. It is the responsibility of the Interested Parties that responses reach UM on time. Responses received after the deadline will be rejected. Description

The University of Mississippi's Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry requires a Beckman LS6500 Liquid Scintillation Counter (Refurbished) to support ongoing research activities involving the detection and quantification of low-level radioactive isotopes in biological and chemical samples. This specific model is needed for its sensitivity, counting efficiency, and analytical capabilities, which are essential for existing research protocols. GMI OpCo, LLC is identified as the only known vendor capable of providing this refurbished equipment, as the LS6500 is no longer manufactured or supported by Beckman Coulter. GMI possesses the necessary licensing and expertise to provide a re-certified instrument and manage regulatory transfer requirements. The cost of $20,994.36 is considered reasonable given the discontinued status of the model and the supplier's ability to provide a re-certified instrument with radioactive sources. The department has engaged with the supplier to secure educational discounts.
