Description
The Florida Department of Health's Bureau of Public Health Laboratories (BPHL) requires a FDA-approved confirmatory assay system to perform HIV-1/HIV-2 Supplemental differentiation assay testing. This system must be capable of testing whole blood, serum, plasma, and in-house validated oral fluid to align with the CDC 2014 HIV Diagnostic Algorithm guidelines. The BPHL is requesting authorization to purchase the Bio-Rad Laboratories Geenius System assays and controls as a single source. The Geenius System is identified as the only FDA-approved HIV-1/HIV-2 differential assay currently available in the U.S. market and has been validated in-house for oral fluid confirmation, meeting the required guidelines. Bio-Rad Laboratories is the sole distributor of this system. The estimated dollar amount for this purchase is $460,000.00 over a 3-year term.
