Description
The Boise VA Medical Center requires comprehensive analytical laboratory services for legionella sampling and water analysis. The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary personnel, equipment, supplies, certifications, and transportation to conduct water testing at various specified locations within the medical center campus. This includes sampling for legionella, bacteria, total coliform, E. coli, conductivity, low-level hardness, and total alkalinity. The scope of work involves regular water sampling in inpatient buildings and cooling facilities, with specific frequencies and locations detailed in the Statement of Work (SOW). The contractor must adhere to strict documentation and reporting requirements, including chain of custody protocols and timely submission of results within 14 business days. For positive legionella samples, serotyping is required by a CDC ELITE accredited laboratory. The laboratory must also meet accreditation requirements from NELAP, A2LA, or EMLAP and demonstrate proficiency in the CDC ELITE program. In addition to legionella testing, the contractor will also provide laboratory analysis for dental and critical water samples collected by BVAMC staff. This includes providing sample media, transportation for samples, and detailed laboratory reports within 10 business days. All services must comply with applicable VHA Directives and federal, state, and local laws.
