Description
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Water is soliciting applications under the Innovative Water Infrastructure Workforce Development Grant program. Eligible applicants include institutions of higher education, public works departments and agencies, nonprofit organizations, nonprofit professional or service organizations, nonprofit labor organizations, nonprofit community colleges, and other nonprofit training and educational institutions. Projects must address exactly one of four project areas: targeted internship, apprenticeship, pre-apprenticeship, or postsecondary bridge programs; education programs for elementary, secondary, or higher education students; regional industry and workforce development collaborations; or education and training programs for decentralized water workers serving private-well and septic-system communities. Applications must address the selected project area, geographic area, and innovative approach, and include project partnerships, transfer of results, environmental results and measurement, a milestone schedule, detailed budget, programmatic capability, and past performance. Up to 15 cooperative-agreement awards are anticipated, with a three-year project period and award ranges of $1,000,000–$7,800,000 for Project Area 1 and $250,000–$1,000,000 for Project Areas 2–4.
