Description
This notice of funding opportunity seeks applicants to provide education and employment programs for adults and youth leaving prison and jail. Proposed projects may improve academic, vocational, and trade programming; develop marketable skills; expand workforce development and career pathways; improve job readiness, employment attainment, and retention; leverage technology; and build organizational capacity aligned with local labor markets and the digital economy. The intended outcomes include improved employment prospects and reduced recidivism. Eligible applicants include state, local, and tribal governments; community-based, nonprofit, faith-based, and other organizations; small businesses and other for-profit organizations; independent school districts; and public, state, and private institutions of higher education. The funding instrument is a discretionary grant with an award range of $0 to $1,000,000 and no cost-sharing or matching requirement.
