Description
The MassHire Merrimack Valley Workforce Board is soliciting proposals for comprehensive artificial intelligence workforce development services funded by the City of Lawrence. Selected provider(s) will recruit and enroll primarily Lawrence residents ages 18–25, with priority for low-income individuals, English language learners, individuals facing employment barriers, and those lacking technology access. Services must include assessment and individualized employment planning, intensive case management, AI training, career readiness, work-based learning, industry credential preparation, job placement, employer engagement, and at least 12 months of follow-up after program exit. The AI training may cover AI fundamentals, prompt engineering, generative AI, machine learning, data analytics, cybersecurity, cloud computing, digital productivity tools, responsible AI, ethics, and industry applications. Programs should include hands-on learning, tangible projects or portfolios, workplace applications, and recognized credentials such as Microsoft AI Fundamentals, Google AI Essentials, AWS Cloud Practitioner, IBM AI Foundations, or CompTIA certifications. Providers must track participant and employer outcomes, maintain records, submit fiscal and performance reports, and include participant incentive payments of up to $350 per youth and $15-per-hour stipends for in-person classroom and program activities in the budget. One or more contracts totaling up to $100,000 may be awarded.
