Description
The U.S. Department of the Navy is seeking an accredited educational institution to provide academic and apprenticeship support for Norfolk Naval Shipyard apprentices. The contractor must deliver online academic instruction through a secure learning management system, provide qualified faculty and support staff, administer placement testing and examinations, support enrollment and advising, monitor student progress, and submit participation, performance, grade, transcript, and completion reports. The program is intended to support approximately 250 apprentices and lead to an Associate of Applied Science degree and a Trade Technician Career Studies Certificate in Maritime Trade Technician. The scope includes developing or adapting curriculum for shipyard trades, providing at least two trade-specific courses for each applicable trade, delivering primarily online instruction with in-person instruction and labs when required, maintaining recognized regional accreditation, accepting qualifying transfer credits, providing student counseling and technical support, conducting enrollment briefings and steering committee meetings, and maintaining quality-assurance processes. The base period runs from January 11, 2027, through January 10, 2028, with one option period through January 10, 2029.
