Description
The contractor must provide 24 custom-fit transparent plastic window shades for the Beale Air Force Base air traffic control tower, using Plastic-View F-72 SR material or an FAA-approved equal conforming to FAA Master Specification Section 12 25 12 and FAA-E-2470b. The shades must provide optical clarity, controlled light transmission, solar and ultraviolet rejection, flame resistance under NFPA 701, and unobstructed visibility for flightline operations. Manual heavy-duty constant-tension spring rollers, locking bottom rails, stainless-steel guide cables, custom mounting hardware, and any required secondary dual-shade configurations are included; motorized operators, mini-blinds, semi-opaque materials, and woven mesh fabrics are prohibited. The scope also includes field measurement and site verification, custom fabrication, shop drawings, delivery, full turnkey installation, safe removal and off-base disposal of existing shades and hardware, cleanup, testing, and coordination around active air traffic control operations. The contractor must provide a minimum five-year comprehensive manufacturer warranty covering defects and mechanical failures. The solicitation requires a technical quote of no more than five pages addressing FAA compliance, delivery and installation safety, and product capabilities; non-manufacturers must also provide an active signed manufacturer authorization letter. Pricing must be submitted on the solicitation form, and a completed FAR 52.212-3 representation and certification must accompany the offer.
