Description
The City of Rockford is soliciting bids from qualified, licensed demolition contractors to provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supplies necessary to demolish the property at 911 8th Avenue Court. The scope includes removal of the building, foundations, basement, slabs, sidewalks, driveways, fences, vegetation, junk vehicles, sheds, rubbish, and other specified site improvements; utility protection and sanitary sewer disconnection; debris removal and disposal; backfilling; grading; topsoil placement; Dutch white clover seeding; erosion and sediment controls; and final site restoration. The contractor must hold the appropriate City demolition license, provide required permits and notices, coordinate inspections, submit anticipated disposal-site information, and provide before-, during-, and after-demolition photographs and seed documentation. The City has provided an asbestos sampling report indicating no asbestos-containing materials were identified in the sampled materials, but concealed or unsampled materials may require additional handling. Bidders may submit a package or individual bid, and the award will generally be made to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder. The contractor may use subcontractors but must identify them with the bid and ensure they meet applicable licensing, insurance, and other City requirements.
