Description
The City of Rockford is soliciting bids from qualified, licensed demolition contractors to provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supplies necessary to demolish the property at 1014 Kishwaukee Street. The scope includes removal of the structure, foundations, basement, slabs, driveways, fences, vegetation, junk vehicles, sheds, rubbish, and other specified site improvements; utility protection and sanitary sewer disconnection; debris removal and disposal; required permits, notices, inspections, and safety controls; and photo documentation before, during, and after demolition. The contractor must restore the property by filling and compacting voids, placing screened topsoil, grading for proper drainage, applying Dutch white clover seed, installing erosion and sediment controls, and maintaining seeded areas through the first growing season. The solicitation requires an appropriately licensed and bonded demolition contractor, permits and regulatory compliance, and submission of the required bid forms, including equal-employment certifications, subcontractor and workforce data forms, stormwater and addenda acknowledgments, the apprenticeship certification, and a bid form. The bid package states that work must begin within 15 days after issuance of the purchase order and be completed no later than November 11, 2026.
