Description
The Town of Waterford Utility Commission is soliciting a licensed contractor to replace existing plastic water service connections with copper water service connections for connections up to two inches in diameter along Rope Ferry Road. The bid schedule includes copper tubing, main tapping and corporation stops, corporation stops, curb stops, and curb boxes; the copper tubing price must include installation. The work includes trenching, backfilling, pavement repair and patching, restoration of disturbed areas, permitting, and compliance with Connecticut Department of Transportation standards for work in the state-road right-of-way. The project is subject to Connecticut prevailing-wage requirements and requires a 10% bid bond when the bid exceeds $50,000, a 100% performance bond above $50,000, and a 100% payment bond above $100,000, subject to the stated alternatives. The contractor must complete the project within 90 consecutive calendar days after the Notice to Proceed, with liquidated damages of $1,000 per day for delay.
