Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract for a base period plus two years to provide professional kidney biopsy interpretation and brain autopsy examination services. The contractor must furnish all labor, materials, supplies, tools, equipment, pickup, and delivery required to perform the work, with a 24-hour turnaround time. Kidney biopsy services include immunofluorescence and interpretation of H&E slides to support a working clinical diagnosis. Brain examination services include brain dissection and interpretation of H&E and any other stains needed for evaluation, with findings incorporated into autopsy reports. This notice is a request for capability information rather than a formal competitive solicitation; interested parties must provide clear, compelling, and convincing evidence that competition would benefit the Government.
