The Connecticut Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for installation of a new six-inch-diameter bedrock water-supply well at 1391 Route 163, Oakdale, Connecticut. The work includes obtaining the required local public-health permit; installing at least 60 feet of casing into competent bedrock; drilling to a minimum depth of 350 feet; conducting a minimum four-hour yield test; containing drill cuttings and sediment; and providing any approved additional drilling or hydrofracturing needed to achieve adequate yield. The contractor must furnish and install the submersible pump, pressure tank, piping, pitless adapter, controls, filters, lightning protection if needed, electrical subpanel if required, and related appurtenances; connect the well to the residence; disinfect the water-supply system; remove existing well equipment; abandon two existing dug wells in accordance with Connecticut regulations; provide required permits, completion and abandonment records, and a materials list; and restore disturbed landscaping, trenching, driveway areas, and site conditions. The contractor must provide licensed drilling, plumbing, and electrical services, either directly or through qualified subcontractors. Bids are due November 6, 2026, and the selected contractor must provide a performance bond within five days of receiving the purchase-order request.
