Description
NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center requires the design, development, fabrication, assembly, integration, testing, qualification, calibration, delivery, and limited post-delivery support of Frequency Reference System hardware for the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna mission. The requirement consists of three flight models and one flight spare, each comprising an optical reference cavity and frequency-locking electronics that stabilize laser frequency using a Pound-Drever-Hall lock for picometer-scale measurements. The work includes systems engineering, mission assurance, environmental qualification, ground support equipment, technical and program reviews, documentation, test data, packaging, transportation, and post-delivery integration support. Targeted no-later-than deliveries are February 9, 2029; September 4, 2029; March 11, 2030; and May 31, 2030. NASA states that it intends to award the requirement on a sole-source basis to BAE Systems Space & Mission Systems Inc., citing BAE's relevant flight heritage, mature hardware baseline, specialized supplier relationships, and ability to meet the fixed schedule.
