Description
The Office of the Great Salt Lake Commissioner seeks an engineering consultant to evaluate methods and infrastructure for conveying surface water from the east and west portions of the Newfoundland Basin to the Great Salt Lake. The consultant must present at least three alternatives, with preliminary cost estimates and an assessment of each option’s strengths, weaknesses, environmental review, and regulatory considerations. The analysis should address relevant site and operating constraints, prioritize existing conveyance infrastructure where feasible, and consider maintenance and long-term management costs. After the Commissioner selects a preferred alternative, the consultant will develop it to at least a 30% engineered design, subject to available funding, and provide refined cost estimates and engineering drawings. The work also includes evaluating terrain and site characteristics, water retention and variability, and expected delivery volumes. The qualifications submission must not include pricing; it is limited to 15 pages, excluding the two-page executive summary, and must use at least 12-point Times New Roman.
