Description
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency seeks comprehensive animal care and husbandry, facility operations and maintenance, limited technical support, and professional veterinary services for its research animal programs. Work includes daily care and monitoring of laboratory animals, procurement and transport of animals and supplies, sanitation and waste handling, equipment and aquatic life-support system maintenance, animal health surveillance, and support for research activities. Veterinary services include attending veterinarian responsibilities, clinical care, emergency coverage, IACUC participation, and consultation for remote facilities. Services are required seven days a week for animal care, with veterinary coverage schedules specified in the performance work statements. The work covers the AWBERC animal care facility in Cincinnati, Ohio, and the RTP vivarium in North Carolina, with veterinary consultation and IACUC support for remote ecology facilities. The contractor must provide qualified personnel, supplies, equipment, and quality-management support, and comply with applicable animal welfare, research, and accreditation requirements.
