Description
SORTA seeks a contractor to collect, transport, recycle, treat, and dispose of waste generated by transit operations and maintenance. Waste streams may include used solvents, fuel and water mixtures, oil and water, antifreeze, cleaning agents, grease sludge, and used aerosol cans. The contractor must provide the labor, vehicles, equipment, containers, and supplies needed for the work; characterize and profile waste as needed; and use appropriately permitted facilities. Collection is requested within 10 working days of notification, with pickups scheduled on weekdays between 7:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The scope also includes required manifests and shipping papers, final-disposition documentation, waste tracking, spill response and cleanup, and returning work areas to a clean and safe condition. Proposals must include a technical proposal describing the project approach, firm qualifications and experience, references, staffing, and key personnel, plus a business proposal and detailed pricing. The solicitation also requires specified insurance certificates, a notarized personal property tax affidavit, lobbying certification, and the MetroMAX Small Business Participation Plan. The contract term is three years; no formal small-business participation goal is set, though participation is encouraged.
