Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, intends to expand an existing, in-service Siemens FireFinder XLS fire alarm and suppression system. The anticipated work includes adding addressable signaling line circuits, smoke and heat detectors, manual pull stations, notification appliances, and associated loop and network hardware, including FireFinder XLS components, SureWire addressable devices, and XNET network hardware. This is a special notice and not a request for competitive proposals or bids. The Government is seeking capability statements from responsible sources that can demonstrate alternative components will communicate on the proprietary Siemens SureWire protocol, join the existing XNET peer-to-peer fire network, install into existing CC-2 or CC-5 card cages, and preserve active UL 864 and NFPA 72 compatibility listings without disrupting suppression or agent-releasing logic. Responses must be submitted electronically by email; oral communications are not accepted. The Government intends to issue a solicitation in July 2027 that includes the Siemens brand-name requirement if no qualifying alternatives are demonstrated.
