Description
The City of Fort Worth is conducting a two-step selection process for design services for the replacement of the fuel farm at Fort Worth Meacham International Airport. Step One requires a Statement of Qualifications limited to 64 pages, addressing the firm's experience, technical competence, references, capability to perform, organizational structure, past performance, proposed technical solution, and ability to engage Small Business Enterprise firms. Short-listed firms may then be invited to submit proposals in Step Two. The scope includes designing an alternate fuel farm to maintain airport fueling operations during replacement of the existing facility, followed by design of a permanent facility. The permanent work includes removal and closure of approximately 20 underground storage tanks and associated piping and dispensing equipment; installation of above-ground storage tanks, secondary containment, foundations, piping, pumps, filtration, controls, electrical systems, and dispensing equipment; capacity analysis and future fuel-demand forecasting; environmental and permitting support; construction bid and contract support; and construction administration, oversight, and on-site observation. The existing system has approximately 253,000 gallons of capacity for Avgas, Jet-A, unleaded fuel, and diesel. The solicitation also requires evidence of professional liability insurance and identifies applicable aviation, environmental, fire-safety, fuel-quality, piping, and tank standards.
