Description
Amherst County Service Authority is soliciting bids for two water-line construction contracts: approximately 2,800 linear feet of 12-inch water line along Route 130 for Contract A and approximately 940 linear feet of 12-inch water line along Route 210 for Contract B. The work includes installation of the water lines and associated appurtenances, including valves, air-release and blow-off assemblies, a steel casing, a creek-crossing abutment, asphalt patching, Virginia Department of Transportation curb work, fire-hydrant assembly, clearing and grubbing, seeding and erosion-and-sediment controls, traffic control, and mobilization. Bidders may submit separate bids for Contracts A and B and a combined bid for both projects. The solicitation requires a bid bond equal to 5 percent of the maximum bid price. The project is federally and state funded and includes Davis-Bacon, American Iron and Steel, Build America, Buy America, and related federal compliance requirements. The contract provides for substantial completion within 180 days and final completion within 210 days after the Contract Times commence.
