Description
The Montana Department of Transportation is soliciting a lump-sum bid to provide all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals required to remove and replace underground product piping serving one 12,000-gallon unleaded-gasoline underground storage tank and one 12,000-gallon diesel underground storage tank. The work includes replacing approximately 100–120 feet of double-wall piping to four aboveground dispensers, sawcutting and restoring concrete, installing 1-1/2-inch approved flexible or rigid piping, and backfilling the piping trench. The contractor must install two underground-tank sump sensors, four under-dispenser sump sensors, a Veeder-Root overfill alarm for both tanks, and connect and program the automatic tank gauging system. The contractor must obtain required Department of Environmental Quality permits, submit installation documentation, coordinate the work schedule with the department, hold a current DEQ license for underground tank-system installation, and provide a brief approach narrative with the anticipated schedule and project duration. Work may not begin before March 15, 2027, and must be completed with an operational system by June 15, 2027. A bid proposal security equal to 10% of the total bid is required when the bid is $150,000 or more.
