Description
The Town of Southbury is soliciting a contractor to collect food scraps from its transfer station, provide and maintain suitable containers, transport the material, and dispose of it at a CT DEEP-permitted volume-reduction, anaerobic-digestion, or food-waste-composting facility. The material includes food scraps and specified compostable items, and the proposed disposal facility must accept all listed materials. The contractor must provide licensed drivers, vehicles, labor, fuel, maintenance, backup vehicles, permits, and related equipment. Pickups must comply with the specified seasonal schedule and occur often enough to prevent unreasonable accumulation. The contract becomes effective upon execution through June 30, 2027, with up to three one-year extensions by mutual agreement. Bidders must submit unit prices, propose a disposal facility and container configuration, identify exceptions, provide three similar-project references, and submit the required bid and acknowledgment documents. Insurance, indemnification, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations are required.
