Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is conducting market research for a potential total small business set-aside firm-fixed-price construction contract to replace the disconnect switches connecting Big Bend Power Plant to two 230 kV transmission tie lines. The estimated construction magnitude is $1 million to $5 million. The scope includes five motor-operated circuit switchers, two load-rated operated disconnects, six grounding switches, and associated equipment required to return the 230 kV switch connection to service. Existing equipment is rated at 242 kV with a 900 kV basic insulation level, and existing ampacities range from 1,200 to 2,000 amperes. Respondents are asked to provide the requested capability information and comments or concerns regarding the planned solicitation.
