The Town of Wolfeboro Municipal Electric Department is seeking a qualified line contractor to perform turnkey upgrades to the single-phase electrical distribution systems on Melody and Keniston Islands. The work includes installing approximately 3,780 circuit feet of 15 kV-rated primary tree-wire conductor with neutral, 20 wood poles, 12 transformers, 23 guy and anchor assemblies, and related overhead, secondary, and service equipment. The contractor will provide installation labor, supervision, tools, equipment, temporary conductor relocations, transportation by barge or boat, utility locating, pole and anchor drilling beyond stated allowances, system conversion activities, cleanup, salvage, and disposal. The department will provide the permanent poles, conductors, transformers, associated hardware, construction standards, and staging support. The contractor must be experienced with overhead and underground distribution construction near energized conductors and comply with applicable lockout/tagout, safety, and operating procedures. Prospective bidders must complete the provided bid form and signed anti-collusion clause. Proof of insurance is required before award, including specified general liability, automobile liability, workers’ compensation, employer’s liability, professional liability where applicable, and builder’s risk coverage. The contractor must provide a schedule achieving substantial completion no later than December 31, 2026; the department may separately or partially award the two island projects.
