Bryan Texas Utilities is soliciting construction bids for the Shady-East State Highway 6 TxDOT Crossing 69 kV Project, a rebid of RFB No. 038-11-26. The work includes rebuilding approximately 2,000 feet of existing transmission circuit and distribution circuit on new structures; installing concrete and tubular steel poles, drilled pier and direct-embed foundations, pole-top assemblies, insulators, conductors, shield wire, fiber/communications facilities, grounding, and related hardware; and removing existing conductors, shield wire, poles, structures, anchors, insulators, and associated equipment. The contractor must provide supervision, labor, tools, equipment, contractor-furnished materials, traffic control, guard structures, access and laydown arrangements, matting, environmental controls, and required coordination with TxDOT and the utility owner. The project requires work near energized electric facilities and State Highway 6, including approved traffic-control plans, lane-closure and detour coordination, and removal of specified existing facilities from the TxDOT right-of-way. Bidders must submit unit pricing, a construction schedule, equipment and material information, field organization and personnel qualifications, references, bidder qualifications, required certifications and forms, a bid guarantee, and supporting documentation. A 20% contingency and a $20,000 testing allowance are included in the proposal structure.
