Description
Victor Valley Transit Authority is soliciting a lump-sum construction contractor for building modifications supporting hydrogen fuel-cell bus maintenance. The work includes furnishing, installing, programming, integrating, testing, commissioning, training, documenting, and warranting complete hydrogen, methane, and carbon monoxide gas detection systems, including controllers, transmitters, displays, alarms, backup power, communications, wiring, conduit, ventilation and equipment controls, gas shutoff interfaces, and reporting functions. The project also includes removal and replacement of existing gas detection equipment; installation of hydrogen-rated Triple-IR flame detectors in the maintenance building; integration with the existing Simplex fire alarm control panel; associated electrical, mechanical, fire alarm, controls, concrete, trenching, surface restoration, and minor demolition work; and operation of the facility during construction. Prevailing wage, Davis-Bacon, Buy America/Build America, California Department of Industrial Relations registration, licensing, subcontractor, and certified payroll requirements apply. The estimated performance period is 180 days, and the apparent award is based primarily on the lowest responsive and responsible bid.
