Description
The City of Aurora is seeking statements of qualifications from prime contractors to prequalify firms for a future riverbank stabilization project at four sites. The work includes grading and earthwork, excavation and debris removal, dewatering and water control, mixed and buried riprap placement, soil and erosion controls, COIR blankets or equivalent, and wetland, upland, and transition-zone planting. Work will occur near and within the South Platte River and around existing and future well-field infrastructure, with environmental protections and construction constraints applying. Applicants must document at least three similar completed projects from the last five years, including river restoration and bank stabilization experience, and provide examples involving protected-species construction exceptions, floodplains, and applicable permit requirements. The submission must also describe the assigned project manager’s and superintendent’s experience, current major projects, company qualifications, and other specified business and performance history. This is a prequalification process, not an award of construction work; only approved prime contractors will be invited to bid on two later packages. The estimated construction costs are $2.3 million for Package 1 and $2.5 million for Package 2.
