Description
The City of Murfreesboro is seeking a contractor to construct the Cherry Lane Extension from east of I-840 to west of I-840, including a new interchange. The approximately 0.436-mile project includes clearing and excavation, roadway and bridge construction, concrete and asphalt pavement, drainage structures, drilled shafts, retaining and barrier elements, sidewalks, curb and gutter, guardrails, fencing, erosion control, traffic control, pavement markings, signs, lighting, and related site work. The scope also includes substantial utility and intelligent transportation system work, including water and sewer facilities, conduit, fiber-optic cable, pull boxes, traffic monitoring and communications infrastructure, and relocation or integration of I-840 SmartWay equipment. The project has a stated completion date of August 31, 2029. Bidders must be prequalified by the Tennessee Department of Transportation and meet applicable Tennessee contractor licensing requirements. The prime contractor must perform at least 30% of the original contract work with its own organization, excluding specialty items. A 5% proposal guaranty is required, and the proposal must include the specified forms, bid bond or proposal guarantee, subcontractor bid-quote listing, and required qualifications and certifications.
