Description
Maricopa County is soliciting sealed bids for Phase 1 construction of a new Northern Parkway segment from 103rd Avenue to 99th Avenue. The work includes roadway pavement, drainage, sidewalks, medians, a new bridge over the New River, lighting, signing and pavement markings, landscaping, and intelligent transportation system conduits. Intersection improvements at 103rd Avenue and a shared-use path are also included. The project is a design-bid-build construction contract with a 365-calendar-day construction period beginning on the date specified in the Notice to Proceed. Bidders must submit a bid security equal to 10% of the bid. The apparent successful bidder will provide 100% payment and performance bonds and a certificate of insurance at contract execution; these are not due with the bid. The solicitation states that the contractor must perform at least 50% of the total contract cost with its own organization.
