Description
The City of Valdosta is soliciting sealed bids for a unit-price construction contract to install approximately 6.49 miles of water main along Inner Perimeter Road and South Patterson Street. The scope includes 24,693 linear feet of excavated PVC water line, 7,400 linear feet of fusible PVC water line installed by directional bore, 2,162 linear feet of ductile iron water line, and 1,436 linear feet of steel casing installed by jack and bore. Additional work includes installation of 28 complete fire hydrants and 22 resilient-seated gate valves with valve boxes, pavement removal and replacement, erosion and sediment control best management practices, stormwater monitoring, and related appurtenances. The contract provides 270 calendar days for substantial completion and 300 calendar days for final completion. A certified check or bid bond of at least 5 percent of the bid is required, along with signed and notarized non-collusion and Georgia Security & Immigration Compliance affidavits. Performance and payment bonds equal to 100 percent of the contract price are required unless the bid is $25,000 or less.
