Description
The City of Monterey is soliciting a job order contractor to inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fire sprinkler and related suppression systems at facilities in the Presidio of Monterey and Ord Military Community. The scope includes quarterly, semiannual, and annual inspections; emergency and after-hours trouble calls; component repairs and replacements; system testing under applicable NFPA standards; inspection and testing records; and written ITM reports. The contractor must provide qualified fire sprinkler personnel, respond to emergencies within two hours, maintain a fully supplied shop within 90 miles of a site, and hold a California Class C-16 license. The contract has a one-year base term with two optional one-year extensions, an annual not-to-exceed funding limit of $1,000,000, and no guaranteed minimum work volume. Bidders must submit unit prices and a general-conditions markup, with materials markup limited to cost plus 15%. The solicitation also requires prevailing-wage compliance, a 10% bid bond, $250,000 performance and payment bonds, specified insurance, and electronic submission through the City's e-Procurement Portal; the original bid bond or equivalent security must be delivered separately by the stated deadline.
