Description
The City of Santa Barbara is soliciting a lump-sum bid to legally destroy one existing municipal production well at Vera Cruz Park. Work includes mobilization, permits and traffic control; temporary facilities and water-management controls; removal and disposal of the pump, column pipe, piping, valves, electrical equipment, fencing, concrete vault, and related structures; downhole and side-scan video surveying; casing perforation and pressure grouting; utility abandonment; and disposal of generated fluids and debris. The contractor must excavate and remove the exposed casing, install a concrete mushroom cap, backfill and compact the site, and construct replacement concrete sidewalk and curb. The project also requires a valid California contractor license in an eligible classification, with specialized well work performed by a properly licensed Class C-57 subcontractor if necessary, California Department of Industrial Relations registration, a temporary industrial wastewater discharge permit, and specified project submittals and records. The estimated project value is $150,000, with completion required within 30 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed.
