Description
St. Lucie County is soliciting bids for a two-year unit-price continuing-services contract, with three one-year renewal options, covering the assessment, maintenance, repair, removal, replacement, realignment, and installation of guardrails and handrails throughout county road rights-of-way. Work includes guardrail assemblies, end anchorages and treatments, rub rails, special posts, aluminum handrails, pedestrian and bicycle railings, shoulder rework, asphalt and concrete work, mailbox relocation, clearing and grubbing, traffic control, final cleanup, debris disposal, emergency mobilization, and related roadway items. The contractor must provide all required equipment, supplies, labor, and personnel. Work hours are generally 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and work must commence within seven calendar days of the agreed scheduled date. The solicitation permits multiple awards and requires at least three years of guardrail or handrail experience, with references and qualification information submitted with the bid. The current fiscal-year budget identified in the pre-bid questions and answers is $130,000. A $5,000 cash performance bond is required from the awarded contractor, and workers' compensation, commercial general liability, and commercial auto liability insurance are required. The addendum requires bidders to acknowledge receipt on the Bid Form and sign and include the addendum with the bid submission.
