Description
The City of Livonia is soliciting a contractor for the 2027 Water Main Replacement Project, Area 11B. The work includes approximately 1,500 linear feet of 8-inch HDPE DR-11 water main installed by horizontal directional drilling, 8,835 linear feet installed by pre-chlorinated pipe bursting, and 517 linear feet installed by open cut. Associated work includes abandoning approximately 1,500 linear feet of existing water main with flowable fill, removing hydrants and gate wells, installing hydrant assemblies, gate valves and wells, water services, connections to existing mains, line-stop work, traffic control, pavement and sidewalk removal and replacement, erosion control, landscaping, irrigation repairs, surface restoration, and audio-video route surveying. The contractor must submit a completed proposal with unit prices, bid security, a subcontractor listing, a statement of qualifications, and legal-status information through the MITN Purchasing Group portal. The solicitation requires documented recent experience with directional drilling, pre-chlorinated pipe bursting, and open-cut water-main installation, as well as at least three Michigan municipal references for similar prime-contractor work. A mandatory in-person pre-bid meeting is required, and performance, labor-and-materials, and maintenance-and-guarantee bonds are required if awarded.
