Description
Chicago Public Schools is seeking a contractor to provide labor and materials for replacement of the domestic water booster pump and associated piping at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Academy of Social Justice. The work includes demolition and removal of the existing booster pump, pressure-control valve assembly, sensing and control piping, and check valve; modification of approximately 35 feet of existing domestic water piping; installation of a new 208V, three-phase commercial booster pump system with 3-inch suction and discharge connections; new valves, Type L copper piping, fittings, flexible connections, vibration isolation, insulation, and electrical reconnection by a qualified electrician. The contractor must secure permits, field-verify conditions, commission and test the system, purge and restore the domestic water system, remove construction debris, and coordinate work with Chicago Public Schools. Materials and installation must comply with the specified domestic water pump and piping standards. A mandatory in-person walkthrough is required before bidding. The bid cover sheet must be completed, signed, and dated and submitted electronically through EUNA/Bonfire. Conditional requirements include a 5% bid bond for bids of $25,000 or more, payment and performance bond pricing for bids of $50,000 or more, and MBE/WBE solicitation forms for bids of $75,000 or more.
