Description
The City of Chicago Department of Aviation is soliciting a contractor for the reconstruction of Taxiway Victor at Chicago O'Hare International Airport under Project No. H6254.25-00 and Specification No. 1343564. The work is to be performed under a single-prime, unit-price contract and includes demolition of existing pavements, utilities, fuel-system components, and related structures; earthwork and grading; underdrains, storm sewers, drainage structures, watermain relocation, and ductbank installation; taxiway and shoulder paving and resurfacing; airfield lighting, signage, electrical systems, pavement marking, and temporary lighting; erosion control, environmental compliance, traffic control, airport safety and security, and construction quality control. The contractor must provide extensive airport-construction management and documentation, including safety and phasing plans, quality-control programs, environmental and stormwater plans, emissions and waste-management documentation, shop drawings, testing, commissioning, and closeout records. Work may require nighttime operations from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Central Time, coordination with airport operations and the FAA, security badging and screening, airfield access controls, and compliance with applicable airport, FAA, federal, state, and City of Chicago requirements.
