The Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) is issuing an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for a comprehensive assessment of elevator modernization work across 52 buildings. The selected contractor will review and evaluate existing elevator modernization and/or elevators for conformance with original contract scope, approved submittals, and applicable codes including A17.1/CSA B44 and local codes. The evaluation shall focus on verification of installed equipment, installation practices, and current operational performance over a 150-day period. Deliverables include a written report identifying observed conditions, incomplete work, and recommendations. The contractor must also provide hourly rates for additional consulting services. Bids must be submitted via the CHA Supplier Portal by June 30, 2026.
