Description
The City of Cincinnati is seeking independent contractors to supplement municipal crews with on-call, as-needed snow removal and deicing services. Contractors will generally service residential streets, defined as streets with 25 mph speed limits, low traffic volumes, little through movement, and primarily access to abutting properties, but may also be assigned other street types. Contractors must provide the necessary equipment, supervision, and directly employed operators; plow snow, apply City-provided deicing materials, maintain roadway and intersection visibility, and respond to service requests within two hours or another agreed timeframe. Operators must attend mandatory orientation and comply with staffing, licensing, safety, work-hour, reporting, and City tracking requirements. Subcontracting or assignment requires prior City approval. The initial contract term is one year, with two additional one-year renewal options. Proposals will be evaluated on cost, project approach, experience, and inclusion. Required submission materials include a two-page cover letter, corporate and contact information, an affidavit and signature page, a snow and ice control questionnaire, a living wage affidavit, and exceptions. The subcontracting outreach program is conditional when seeking inclusion-criteria scoring or proposing subcontractors.
