Description
The City of Porterville is soliciting a contractor to renovate the existing ticket counter in the transit center lobby at 61 W Oak Avenue. The work includes demolition of the existing counter, casework, ticket window, kiosk, soffit, lighting, and associated finishes; installation of an ADA-compliant ticket counter with stainless-steel-clad millwork, solid-surface countertops, ballistic-rated panels and glazing, a sliding transaction window, a talk-through unit, secure access door and frame, and related signage and finishes. The project also includes associated architectural, mechanical, electrical, lighting, security/access-control, HVAC, patching, painting, flooring, construction-waste management, and operational-continuity work. The transit center must remain operational during normal business hours, and the contractor must maintain existing critical systems, coordinate shutdowns, provide required permits and licenses, and comply with California prevailing-wage, apprenticeship, public-works registration, and affirmative-action requirements. The engineer’s estimate is $234,253.00; completion is required within 15 working days after the Notice to Proceed.
