Description
The City of Tempe is soliciting proposals for supplemental contracted water plant mechanics to perform as-needed preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and emergency repairs for water production and treatment equipment. The scope includes pumps, compressors, engines, chemical feeders, mixers, controllers, valves, motors, air lines, bearings, seals, sleeves, air compressors, and related mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems. Work may also include welding, cutting, fabrication, brazing, equipment modification, maintenance logs, reports, sketches, disinfection of potable-water equipment, and waste disposal. Contractors must provide qualified personnel, tools, equipment, and labor; have at least three years of relevant water-industry mechanical maintenance and repair experience; and ensure employees have confined-space training. The contract is for two years, with possible renewals, and has an estimated annual spend of up to $130,000. Respondents must provide a Heat Safety Plan and complete the proposal questionnaire, pricing section, required certifications, and sustainability questionnaire.
