Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is preparing a solicitation for off-site medical transcription services supporting seven facilities in its VISN 22 network: Albuquerque, Amarillo, Big Spring, El Paso, Phoenix, Prescott, and Tucson. The contractor must provide personnel, equipment, software, toll-free dictation access, secure communications, backup systems, and remote workstation infrastructure. All transcription and verification must be performed in the United States by U.S. citizens, and the contractor must support HIPAA, VA security, Privacy Act, FISMA, and related requirements. Services will operate 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, with turnaround requirements of two hours for designated STAT dictations, four hours for history and physical assessments, six hours for operative and related reports, and 24 hours for other medical reports. The system must interface with VistA through the VA VPN and support batch uploads, online entry, reporting, quality control, visible-black-character billing, data retention, security monitoring, and facility training. The notice identifies a base period plus four option periods and states that the solicitation is expected to be posted the week of September 28, 2026.
